Mr. Linto Thomas hailing from Kerala has been awarded an Honorary ICBF membership in recognition of his humanitarian activities. He came to Qatar in search of livelihood 13 years ago. He is offering free rides to job seekers and other needy people as he himself was once among the unemployed many years ago and remembers his struggle to go for interviews when he didn’t have enough money for a cab fare. Mr. Thomas credits his mother and says that she has been inspiration to him in his benevolent activities and outlook.
His activities was brought to light by Qatar Malayalees, a Facebook page when his post offering free rides was posted through this page. Print media also followed with this news.
The Honorary membership certificate and memento was handed over by Mr. Ziad Usman, President, ICBF to Mr. Linto. The function held at ICBF office, Thumama was attended by the Management Committee members along with Members of Associated Organizations of ICBF.
During his acceptance speech Mr. Linto shared some heartwarming memories of childhood and his experiences in Qatar.
The aim of ICBF is to recognize and encourage individuals who devote their time and energy to help those in need among the Indian community in Qatar.
